Chief Adviser Yunus assures best care for Hadi

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus met family members of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inquilab Manch and a prospective independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, at the State Guest House Jamuna on Saturday morning (December 13).
According to the account of the meeting, Hadi’s brother Abu Bakar Siddique and sister Masuma attended, along with three Inquilab Manch leaders—Abdullah Al Jaber, Fatima Tasnim Juma and Md Borhan Uddin.

Prof Yunus said the government was taking all necessary steps to ensure Hadi received the best possible treatment, adding that “the whole country” was praying for him and that everyone was trying to secure his highest-standard medical care.

He said the government would arrange treatment abroad if doctors deemed it necessary, based on Hadi’s physical condition.

Hadi’s sister described him as someone who loved the country “from childhood”, adding that he had been “revolutionary” since an early age and enjoyed reciting rebellious poetry.

She said he has a 10-month-old child and called him the family’s “backbone”.

She added that he had much work left to do and “must survive”, urging what she called a “revolutionary government” to protect those she described as “July revolutionaries”, warning that otherwise the country’s independence and sovereignty would be at risk.

Inquilab Manch leader Abdullah Al Jaber demanded the attackers’ arrest “as soon as possible”.

He said that after August 5, many people returned home, but Hadi did not, adding that Hadi embodied the July uprising and worked tirelessly for it.

Jaber also said he had heard the alleged shooter had previously been arrested in a case, and urged authorities to investigate how he obtained bail.

Fatima Tasnim Juma called on the government to take steps to ensure the overall security of “July fighters”.

Yunus said authorities would identify the full network behind what he described as a brutal attack and bring those involved to justice.

He added that law enforcement agencies were working actively to arrest the perpetrators as quickly as possible, and said he had already ordered a full investigation, including a thorough analysis of the incident.

The meeting was attended by Asif Nazrul, Law Adviser, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser, Adilur Rahman Khan, Industries Adviser, and Khalilur Rahman, National Security Adviser.
