A special prayer ceremony was held on Wednesday (3 December) at Pallabi City Club Ground in Dhaka for the speedy recovery of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. The event was attended by a large number of party leaders, activists, and local citizens.The chief guest, Aminul Haque, BNP’s Central Sports Secretary, Convener of Dhaka North City BNP, and BNP candidate for Dhaka-16, addressed the gathering. He said, “Begum Khaleda Zia, the symbol of democracy for which we have long fought, has never compromised with tyranny. She has devoted her life to restoring the rights of the people and safeguarding democracy. We pray to Allah for her speedy recovery.”
Aminul Haque added that ahead of the upcoming national election, BNP is organizing prayers across the country for the health of its leader, alongside other party programs. He noted that prayers for Khaleda Zia are being offered in mosques, madrasas, orphanages, and various political platforms, transcending party lines.
The prayer session included recitations of the Qur’an and Durood Sharif, led by Maulana Baten, Imam and Khatib of Mirpur Central Mosque, seeking Khaleda Zia’s long life and full recovery.
