The death toll from mosquito-borne dengue continues to rise, with three more fatalities reported in the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of deaths this year to 401.During the same period, 421 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country. With this, the total number of reported cases for the year has climbed to 98,705, according to a press release issued on Tuesday (9 December) by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).According to the bulletin, among the three latest deaths, two were residents of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), while the other was from an area outside the city corporation in the Barishal division.

The press release further stated that 61.5% of the new patients are male, while 38.5% are female.
Recoveries
In the past 24 hours, 528 dengue patients have been discharged from hospitals nationwide. With this, the total number of recoveries this year has reached 96,760.
