BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman is set to exchange greetings with editors and journalists from Bangladesh’s national media on Saturday (January 10), party sources said. The event is scheduled for 11am at the Grand Ballroom of Sheraton Dhaka in Banani in the capital, and will honour editors and journalists from national daily newspapers, television, radio, news agencies and online outlets. An invitation letter signed by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir urged media editors and journalists to attend. The letter said that due to various circumstances, there has been no opportunity in recent years for the party’s acting chairman to meet or exchange greetings directly with editors, journalists and media professionals, and that the gathering has been arranged after a long interval. 

The BNP said it hopes the event will further strengthen mutual cordiality, communication and understanding between the party and the media.
