Sherpur UNO Engages with Journalists in a Cordial Exchange

Newly appointed Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Miz Mahbuba Haque held a cordial introduction and discussion session with local journalists, fostering dialogue and cooperation for the development of the area. The meeting took place on Tuesday afternoon at the Upazila auditorium hall, where Miz Mahbuba Haque personally presided over the session. Several prominent journalists attended the event, including Rafiqul Majid, Executive President of Sherpur Press Club; Abu Hanif, Organizational Secretary; Zubaidul Islam, Treasurer; Zahidul Khan Sourav, Publicity Secretary; Naeem Islam, Office Secretary; Moniruzzaman Ripon, Sports Secretary; Shahidul Islam Hira and Sultan Ahmed Moyna, Executive Members; Tariqul Islam, District Correspondent of Desh TV; and Shakil Murad, District Correspondent of Ekattor TV, among others.

During the session, the UNO emphasized the importance of journalists’ positive collaboration in driving the overall development and progress of Sherpur Upazila. She encouraged the media professionals to play an active role in highlighting the initiatives, challenges, and achievements of the region, underscoring that constructive media engagement is vital for transparent governance and community development.

A wide range of print and electronic media journalists from Sherpur attended the discussion, providing an interactive platform for exchanging ideas and perspectives. The session allowed journalists and the UNO to establish a personal rapport and build mutual understanding for effective communication and reporting.

Miz Mahbuba Haque, part of the 35th BCS batch, previously served as Senior Assistant Secretary in the Planning Division and has worked as UNO in various Upazilas across the country. Her extensive experience in administration and planning equips her to engage proactively with local stakeholders, ensuring inclusive development strategies and media collaboration.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with participants expressing optimism about future cooperation and the UNO’s commitment to fostering a transparent, efficient, and participatory approach in local administration.
