BNP leader Yaser Khan Chowdhury spent the final three working days of the week—Thursday, Friday and Saturday—engaged in various activities in his local area. Instead of spending time at home, he went directly to the people and spoke with residents from different walks of life to learn about their well-being and concerns. During his interactions with local residents, he learned about various problems in the area and assured them that he would take necessary initiatives to help address those issues.
While speaking with local people, Yaser Khan Chowdhury listened to their concerns about daily life, social issues and other local matters. He also sought to learn about the problems faced by individual families and residents and, according to those close to him, tried to discuss the issues with relevant people and explore possible solutions.
During his visits, he also inquired about various religious, educational and social institutions in the area. He spoke with people concerned about whether mosques, madrasas, temples, churches and other places of worship were facing any problems. He also sought to learn whether these institutions were operating normally and whether they required any local assistance.
Yaser Khan Chowdhury said he also maintains regular contact with people in different districts and upazilas across the greater Mymensingh region. During his visits to these areas, he meets not only BNP leaders and activists but also members of the general public to hear about their problems and expectations. He also holds discussions with senior local party leaders and listens to their views on various organisational matters.
On Thursday, Yaser Khan Chowdhury addressed several meetings, including a meeting organised by the Nandail Upazila and Municipal BNP at Nandail Chowrasta. At these meetings, he called on the people to remain united to protect the country’s democratic environment. His remarks also reflected concerns about the overall situation in the country.
Yaser Khan Chowdhury said that, in his view, certain groups were attempting to create instability in the country through various activities. He urged everyone to remain vigilant against such attempts. According to him, people must play a responsible role in maintaining stability and protecting the democratic environment.
At the meetings, he further said that any attempt to destabilise the country would be strongly resisted. He also spoke about the need for legal and organisational action against those involved in extortion, acts of violence and conspiracies. He warned that those involved in such activities should not expect protection or leniency.
During his visits, Yaser Khan Chowdhury also held discussions with prominent members of the community and exchanged views with local political and social leaders. He listened to their opinions on various local issues and emphasised the importance of maintaining direct contact with ordinary people to understand their concerns and expectations.
His activities of meeting people directly and listening to their problems drew attention among different sections of the local community. According to people close to him, his efforts to remain connected with residents, stand beside them and take initiatives to address local problems have earned him goodwill and affection from many people in the area.
Yaser Khan Chowdhury said the primary objective of politics should be to stand beside the people and listen to their concerns. He also said that regular communication with local residents helps political leaders understand their problems and expectations. At the same time, he called upon people, irrespective of political affiliation, to play a responsible role in maintaining democracy, peace and social stability.
