There is no “guestroom” or “massroom” culture of Chhatra Dal in Dhaka University or in any educational institution across the country, said Rakibul Islam Rakib, the Central President of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (BJCD).He made the remarks on Thursday afternoon while addressing as the chief guest at the National Conference on the Reorganization and Future Political Strategy of the Bangladesh Democratic Students’ Council, held at the Abu Sayeed Convention Center in the capital’s Minto Road area.
Rakibul Islam Rakib said,
“No one can claim that Chhatra Dal has occupied any guestroom or massroom in Dhaka University or elsewhere in Bangladesh. We have structured our organization in such a way that no such dominance can take place. This approach will continue in the future as well.”
He further said,
“Before the student union election, several propaganda campaigns were launched against us, alleging that Chhatra Dal would reintroduce guestroom or massroom practices. It was a complete falsehood. Over the past year, another student group has spread these lies in our name and escaped accountability. However, by 2026–27, we will prove that Chhatra Dal has established a new and progressive model of student politics.”
The Chhatra Dal president added,
“Chhatra Dal does not believe in the culture of guestrooms or massrooms. One day, the student community will stand against these lies, InshaAllah. We also do not want to spread falsehoods against any other organization. Everyone must abandon the politics of domination and intimidation.”
Addressing the student leaders, Rakib said,
“Those who pursue money in politics can never achieve ideological growth. If the top leaders of a student organization become involved in corruption, the entire organization will sink into that culture. We want to bring back value-based and idealistic student politics.”
