People Want to Know Who Has Advisers’ Call Records: Rizvi

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has raised concerns over how the call records of advisers were obtained and who provided them. He questioned the state of governmental articulation regarding this matter. Rizvi warned that having advisers’ call records in the possession of any individual is illegal and constitutes blackmailing. He stressed that the public deserves answers to these questions, as doubts and suspicions have arisen among people. He further emphasized that under no circumstances should those who destroy democracy, commit crimes against humanity, or kill children and students be allowed to return to power. Rizvi asserted that those who facilitate such individuals will not be forgiven by the public.

He stated, “If political parties do not sign the July Charter, a dark cloud will spread. We are already witnessing several examples of this. One political party plays politics in the name of Islam. Its leader claimed, ‘We have the call records of the advisers.’ Advisers are running the state—how did you obtain their call records? If it is false, then you are spreading lies in the name of Islam. But if it is true, then who is providing you with the advisers’ call records—these are questions the public wants answered.”

Rizvi made these remarks on Thursday (16 October) at an event organized by the “We Are BNP Family” initiative in Kamrangirchar, Dhaka.

Rizvi also mentioned that under the guidance of Tarique Rahman, BNP actively assists helpless people. Upon learning about a family forced to sell a kidney for a child’s treatment, they stepped in to provide support. He assured that BNP would stand by the family to ensure the best possible medical care. He reiterated that BNP Family is always prepared to support the underprivileged.

He added that they aim to build a humane Bangladesh where no one dies without medical care. “We are going through complex situations, but standing by the people is our responsibility,” he said.

Addressing the July Charter and the general elections, Rizvi warned, “Today, political parties are trying to unite and finalize the July Charter. Delays regarding the general elections and related matters are not being received well by the public. Obstructions in the path of democracy will benefit fascists. Political parties must unite and sign the July Charter; otherwise, a dark cloud will overshadow us.”

Also present at the event were BNP Treasurer Rashiduzzaman Millat, “We Are BNP Family” Convener Journalist Atikur Rahman Rumon, and Member Secretary Agriculturalist Moksedul Momin Mithun.
