Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has prayed for the speedy recovery of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, who is currently undergoing treatment in hospital due to infections in her lungs and heart.In a Facebook post on Monday (24 November) night, he wrote, “I pray to the Almighty Lord for the quick recovery of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.”Earlier, Khaleda Zia herself sought prayers from the nation for her recovery. BNP Standing Committee member and her personal physician Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain said that since her admission to Evercare Hospital on Sunday night, she has been under the close supervision of a medical board.

Khaleda Zia is being kept under intensive observation at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka. On Monday night, a medical source reported that her breathing difficulties had worsened due to increased infections in her heart and lungs. In response, doctors have decided to keep her under special monitoring.
