BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said that by standing beside the poor and distressed and extending support to them, Tarique Rahman is now working as a “messenger of humanity.”He made the remarks on Tuesday (18 November) afternoon while speaking as the chief guest at a humanitarian program organized by the platform Amra BNP Poribar at the historic Shaheed Khokon Park in Bogura to mark the birthday of BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. The event included a free medical camp, distribution of books among students, wheelchairs for physically challenged individuals, and agricultural inputs among farmers.
In his speech, Rizvi said, “Sheikh Hasina wanted to stay in power by relying on an unelected administration and a judiciary that enabled midnight voting.”
He alleged that ahead of the 2018 election, “Sheikh Hasina collected Tk 8,000 crore from her preferred business syndicates to conduct nighttime voting. She spent Tk 3,000 crore to influence officials, police, and different forces and agencies. The remaining Tk 5,000 crore was shared among four individuals.”
Rizvi further claimed that due to “vindictiveness,” Begum Khaleda Zia was “forcibly evicted from her husband’s home,” adding that she had said with tearful eyes, “Allah will judge you.”
He added, “By fleeing to India and abandoning her collaborators, it has been proven that Allah has delivered justice.” Rizvi compared the fall of Sheikh Hasina to that of “Yazid and Hitler.”
The event was presided over by Amra BNP Poribar President and senior journalist Atiqur Rahman Rumman.
Speakers included cardiologist Dr. Monowarul Kader Bitu, BNP Chairperson’s Adviser and former mayor Advocate Mahbubur Rahman, former MP Helaluzzaman Talukder Lalu, VP Saiful Islam, and journalist Zahidul Islam Roni.
