BNP Health Affairs Secretary Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam visited the Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital on Friday to see injured students affected by the recent earthquake. During the visit, he paid respects to the memory of Rafiul Islam, a second-year student of the 52nd batch of Sir Salimullah Medical College who died after a wall collapse, and met with Nusrat Akter, who sustained serious injuries during the incident. Nusrat is currently undergoing treatment with injuries to her head, eye, and right hand. Dr. Rafiqul Islam inquired about her condition and urged the hospital authorities to ensure the best possible medical care.

Later the same day, Dr. Rafiqul Islam also visited Sheikh Tanvir Bari Hamim, the convenor of Jasimuddin Hall Chhatra Dal at Dhaka University, who was admitted to a private hospital with a right-leg injury sustained while trying to exit the hall during the earthquake. He spoke with Hamim and consulted the attending doctors regarding his condition.

Those present during the visits included Sir Salimullah Medical College Principal Prof. Dr. Mazahar Shaheen, Vice-Principal Prof. Dr. Zakir Hossain, former Jubo Dal Health Affairs Secretary Dr. Sayem Al Monsur Faizi, Resident Surgeon of the Pediatric Surgery Department Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Sajib, former Dhaka Medical Chhatra Dal leaders Dr. Noman Azizi Khan and Dr. Badsha, along with Dr. Raihan, Dr. Piyas, Dr. Momi, and students Jahid, Rezoan, Tajim Sajid, among others.
