On the occasion of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s upcoming birthday on 20 November, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has instructed its leaders and activists to observe only limited, formal activities.In a statement issued on Tuesday evening (18 November), the party’s Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced that all forms of grand or celebratory events are strictly prohibited. This includes cake-cutting ceremonies, posters or banners, processions, discussions, or any type of festive gathering.

Rizvi said that leaders and activists of all BNP units and affiliated organisations across the country, including Dhaka, are being urged to ensure that the party’s strict directive is not violated under any circumstances.

He further stated that maintaining party discipline is crucial, and considering the current political situation, it is essential for party members at all levels to responsibly comply with the leadership’s decision.
