Ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election, Salahuddin Ahmed, a member of the BNP Standing Committee, has stated that the party is considering forming a grand alliance.He made this remark on Monday, 27 October, while responding to questions from journalists after paying respects at the grave of President Ziaur Rahman in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka.Earlier, on the occasion of the 47th founding anniversary of the Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, Salahuddin Ahmed, along with party president M. Monayem Munna and general secretary Nurul Islam Nayon, offered floral tributes at Ziaur Rahman’s grave and participated in a special prayer for the late president’s soul.

The event was attended by the party chairman’s advisor Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, former Jubo Dal president Saiful Alam Nirab, and other central leaders of the organization.

Salahuddin Ahmed said,

“We have been in discussions with all eligible candidates across the country based on constituencies, and this is part of that process. We want to send a unified message so that there is unity within the party and among the nation. We are considering forming a grand alliance with those with whom we have conducted joint movements. Our aim is to navigate the upcoming electoral challenges in a united manner.”

He added,

“Our message to the candidates is simple—no division, remain united. Unity among the people is our greatest strength. We are advising the candidates to ensure that no one takes the path of division, so that this unity is preserved.”
