24‘Fortunate’Families in BNP:The Second Generation Takes the Lead

As the 13th National Parliamentary Election approaches, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced candidates for 237 constituencies. While the party claims to have followed its “one family, one candidate” policy, analysis reveals that 24 candidates come from politically influential families, where their fathers were former MPs, ministers, or prominent party leaders.BNP leaders say the nominations of these second-generation politicians reflect the party’s commitment to “continuity of experience and tradition.” The leadership believes these younger figures will blend the wisdom of the past with the energy of youth to strengthen the party’s future.
