A fake press release using the forged signature of BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has been circulated on social media platform Facebook.In response, Rizvi has urged party leaders, activists, and supporters not to be misled by the fabricated document. The matter was clarified in an official press statement issued on the BNP’s letterhead on Tuesday night (November 4). The statement was also shared on the party’s verified Facebook page.

In the official release, Rizvi stated:

“I, Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), would like to inform all party leaders and activists that a vested quarter has forged my signature and posted a fake press release on social media (Facebook) today, Tuesday, November 4.”

He further said,

“The press release circulated on Facebook is completely false, fabricated, and motivated by ill intent.”

The official statement also added:

“The mentioned press release was not issued or distributed to the media by the BNP office under my signature. It is entirely baseless and fake. All levels of party leaders and activists are requested not to be confused or misled by the forged press release circulated on Facebook.”

BNP office sources said the party will take necessary steps to identify those involved in spreading the fake statement and to prevent such misinformation in the future.
