Prime Minister Tarique Rahman held a meeting with the leaders of the Editors’ Council on Sunday.The meeting took place at noon on May 17 at the Public Administration Conference Room of the Cabinet Division at the Bangladesh Secretariat.Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Chowdhury, and the Prime Minister’s Information Adviser Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman were present at the meeting. Among those attending on behalf of the Editors’ Council were Council President and New Age Editor Nurul Kabir, General Secretary and Bonik Barta Editor Dewan Hanif, The Daily Star Editor and Publisher Mahfuz Anam, Manabzamin Editor Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, Prothom Alo Editor Matiur Rahman, The Financial Express Editor Shamsul Haque Zahid, The Daily Inqilab Editor AMM Bahauddin, Suprobhat Bangladesh Editor Rusho Mahmud, and Daily Karatoa Editor Md. Mozammel Haque.

During the meeting, the participants discussed various contemporary issues related to the media sector. Following the discussion, the Prime Minister joined the Editors’ Council leaders for a luncheon.

Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Saleh Shibli and Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon were also present at the event.
