Yeaser Khan Chowdhury was born on February 18, 1982, in Moazzempur village of Nandail Upazila, Mymensingh district, Bangladesh. His father, Anwarul Hossain Khan Chowdhury, was elected as a Member of Parliament from the Mymensingh-9 constituency in the 1991 national election. His mother, Rahat Khan Chowdhury, is also a respected personality. Growing up in a politically active family environment, he developed a strong sense of public service from an early age.

After completing his education, Yeaser Khan Chowdhury established himself in the field of information technology. As an IT specialist, he worked for a long period in the Information Technology Department of BBC Television Network in London, United Kingdom, where he held significant responsibilities. His experience in modern technology, media, and international work environments enriched his vision and leadership qualities. Early in his professional career, he was also involved in journalism, which helped him gain a deep understanding of society, public communication, and the importance of information flow.

In politics, Yeaser Khan Chowdhury is recognized as a dedicated and committed member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). During difficult times for the party, he actively worked on the ground and earned the trust and confidence of party leaders and activists. As the Convener of Nandail Upazila BNP, he played a vital role in strengthening the party organization, uniting grassroots activists, and reinforcing the party’s connection with the general public.

Inspired by the political ideology of Tarique Rahman, Yeaser Khan Chowdhury believes that “Politics is for the people and for the welfare of the people.” Guided by this principle, he continues to work tirelessly for public welfare. Despite his busy political schedule, he is known to work nearly fifteen hours a day. One of the key characteristics of his political philosophy is his respect for ordinary citizens and party workers alike. In the 2026 13th National Parliamentary Election of Bangladesh, Yeaser Khan Chowdhury was elected as a Member of Parliament from the Mymensingh-9 (Nandail) constituency as a candidate of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). He secured 85,761 votes, defeating his nearest rival, AKM Anwarul Islam, who received 71,168 votes. This victory was viewed not only as a political achievement but also as a reflection of the trust and affection of the people of Nandail.

Following his election, on February 18, 2026, he assumed office as the State Minister for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Observers believe that his extensive background in information technology and media will greatly assist him in carrying out his responsibilities effectively. He has already expressed his commitment to building a youth-friendly and technology-driven information system for the country.

After taking office as State Minister, he also pledged to work for the welfare of journalists. Recently, he was appointed Chairman of the Journalists Welfare Trust. Having previously worked in journalism himself, he deeply understands the professional challenges, responsibilities, and welfare needs of journalists. As a result, members of the journalist community are hopeful that under his leadership, the trust will become more dynamic and effective.
