Dr.Shafiqur Rahman, Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has said that the victory of Islami Chhatra Shibir in the Dhaka University and Jagannath University student union elections will also have an impact on the upcoming national elections, InshaAllah. He expressed optimism that the party would contest in all 300 constituencies in the next election with the support of those who love Jamaat and are loved by it.Addressing the session of the Central Women’s Majlis-e-Shura of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami at Al-Falah Hall in Mogbazar, Dhaka on Saturday, Dr. Rahman urged everyone to provide all forms of assistance, including financial sacrifices, to ensure success in the forthcoming polls.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman reflected on the struggles and sacrifices made during the movement of July-August 2024, saying, “Through numerous movements and sacrifices, we achieved a new Bangladesh on August 5, 2024. Many lives were lost, and some suffered severe injuries during the struggle. It is through these sacrifices that Allah has granted us great victory.” He prayed for the martyrs and the injured, and called upon everyone to express gratitude to Allah.
Having recently recovered from a prolonged illness, Dr. Rahman expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to speak at the Central Women’s Majlis-e-Shura, stating, “Both sickness and health are blessings from Allah, and we must always remain thankful in every circumstance.” He added, “Under the fascist rule of the past fifteen and a half years, many leaders and activists were martyred, injured, or forced into exile. It is through their sacrifices that we now have the opportunity to operate in a free environment.”
The Jamaat Amir emphasized that Allah tests His servants in many ways. “Just as Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.) passed Allah’s test and received a great reward, our leaders have paved the way for today’s freedom through persecution, imprisonment, and the blood of martyrs,” he said. He urged everyone to serve humbly, act as true servants of the people, and place their trust in Allah while fulfilling their responsibilities.
The day-long session, presided over by Central Women’s Division Secretary Muhtarma Nurunnisa Siddiqua, featured a keynote speech on “Political Situation and National Election 2026” by the organization’s Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar.
