Ahead of the upcoming national elections, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has warned party leaders and activists to remain vigilant at polling centers, saying that anyone attempting to rig votes must be resisted. He made these remarks on Friday evening while addressing a party views-exchange meeting in Mirpur, Dhaka, as the chief guest. Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that if his party comes to power, it will bring qualitative changes to the country’s politics. “Our first task will be to reform the education system,” he said, adding that moral education can help curb corruption and ensure social equality. He also pledged to restore discipline in the financial sector and ensure the safety of foreign investments.

The Jamaat chief further stated that the party would take strict action against extortionists and vowed to end the cycle of corrupt politics. He asserted that Jamaat fears no force and emphasized that if his party forms the government, it will maintain friendly relations with all nations—without allowing any single country to exercise dominance.
