The BNP has issued a warning notice to UK BNP President and party Chairperson’s adviser M A Malik over allegations of causing public suffering and annoyance during his arrivals and departures at airports in Bangladesh.According to BNP’s central office, the formal caution was served on Wednesday (October 1).Earlier that day, at around 3:45 pm, Malik arrived at Sylhet Osmani International Airport on a flight from London and later spoke to journalists.
In the official notice, BNP stated:
“During your arrivals and departures at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport or Sylhet Osmani International Airport, large gatherings of people assemble to greet or bid you farewell. Such irresponsible activities cause severe public suffering. Your indiscreet actions have repeatedly created unbearable situations for countless passengers. On previous occasions too, your excessive gatherings at airports triggered severe traffic congestion around the airport areas. As a responsible party leader, such actions violate organizational principles, appear indecorous, and create negative reactions among the public.”
The notice further warned:
“You are hereby instructed that if, from now on, such gatherings are arranged during your arrivals or departures at airports causing public inconvenience, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will be compelled to take organizational action against you.”
