Gabriel Sistiaga Ochoa de Chinchetru, Ambassador of Spain to Bangladesh, paid a courtesy call on Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.The meeting took place on Sunday (September 28) morning at the Jamaat chief’s office in Bashundhara, Dhaka, where they also shared breakfast. At the outset, the ambassador inquired about Dr. Rahman’s health and wished him a full recovery.According to Jamaat sources, the discussion was held in a very cordial and friendly atmosphere. They exchanged views on Bangladesh’s current overall situation, Bangladesh–Spain bilateral ties, investment opportunities, and international relations. Both sides expressed optimism that Spain’s support for Bangladesh would remain strong in the future and that Spanish investment in the country would continue to grow.
Present on behalf of Jamaat-e-Islami were Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar, Dhaka North Medical Thana Ameer Dr. S.M. Khaliduzzaman, and the party chief’s foreign affairs adviser Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan.
