Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rahman has congratulated Islami Chhatra Shibir on its historic victory in the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) elections. His remarks were published Wednesday (10 September) on the party’s official Facebook page.

Hafiz Naeemur Rahman said, “A new history has been created in Bangladesh, Alhamdulillah. In the Ducsu elections at the country’s premier educational institution, Dhaka University, the Islamic student organization Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba (Chhatra Shibir) has won by a landslide. This is the first time in Bangladesh’s history that an entire panel has secured victory.”

He further noted that the other panels had the united backing of what he described as “India-aligned forces,” yet the students chose to elect Shibir. “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Shibir for this victory in the Ducsu elections,” he said.

Expressing optimism, Hafiz Naeemur added, “By Allah’s will, this triumph will accelerate the struggle for the rights of students and youth. At the same time, it will pave the way for Bangladesh’s liberation from Indian conspiracies and open a new chapter of development and progress.”

He also credited Bangladesh’s interim government for successfully organizing the election. “The Ducsu election, widely regarded as the nursery of democracy, was held transparently and peacefully despite adverse circumstances. For this, the interim government deserves recognition,” he remarked.
