Bangladesh’s Future to Be Built Through BNP’s 31-Point Reform Agenda: Gayeshwar

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee Member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy has said that under the leadership of the party’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, BNP will regain the trust of the people in the coming days and implement its 31-point reform program to build the future of Bangladesh. He made the remarks on Sunday (August 31) while addressing a discussion meeting organized at the Engineers Institution auditorium in Dhaka on the occasion of BNP’s 47th founding anniversary.

Gayeshwar Chandra expressed solidarity with those who have been martyred, disappeared, or suffered losses during BNP’s struggle over the past one and a half decades. “We remain hopeful that the loved ones who have been victims of enforced disappearance will return safely,” he said.

Recalling BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, Gayeshwar said, “The standard of patriotism has to be 100 percent, and Shaheed Zia is its finest example. He not only declared independence but also fought with arms in hand and sacrificed his life. That is why people still remember him. On November 7, 1975, when the country was plunged into chaos, it was Zia whom the people trusted — and that trust brought him to the leadership of the nation.”

Highlighting BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s political struggles, he said, “In 1991, many predicted that BNP would not win even 10 seats. But under Khaleda Zia’s leadership, the people chose BNP. The party’s legacy has always been standing by the people, never running away.”

On the party’s future course, Gayeshwar noted: “Just as Shaheed Zia gave the 19-point program and Tarique Rahman presented Vision 2030, BNP has now introduced the 31-point reform agenda under Tarique Rahman’s leadership. Through its implementation, the future Bangladesh will be built.”

Gayeshwar Chandra Roy expressed optimism that BNP, as a party of public aspirations, will work together with the people to shape the Bangladesh of tomorrow.
