Dudu: Retail party won't seek election because it will collapse

BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu has said that some small parties are not seeking votes due to fear of a landslide in the election. He made this statement at a discussion organized by the Janatar Odhikar Party at the National Press Club on Sunday (August 17).Shamsuzzaman Dudu said, "There are some small parties, but they actually have no chance in the elections. They don't want elections because they will be defeated in the elections. They have taken control of some ministries, considering them their property."He further said, "The country now needs an accountable government. To get this accountable government, a good election is needed. Khaleda Zia has come back from very close to death for a good election."Hasina did not even allow him to receive treatment. She kept him in prison for 6 years on a false case.Noting that Bangladesh is now free from tyranny, Dudu said, "To give this freedom a permanent foundation, fair elections must be held and an accountable government must be established. We are supporting this government. Other parties are also doing so."Addressing the leaders and activists, Dudu said, "We must take an oath this August and our movement will continue until an elected government is established. Because an accountable government is committed to the people, is obliged to listen to the people, and is accepted at home and abroad."If a people-oriented political system is to be established in the future, an elected government must be established.
