The Office of the Chief Advisor has written to the Election Commission to complete all preparations to hold the National Assembly elections before the start of Ramadan in February 2026.Through this letter, the formalities of the government's request to the Election Commission to organize the election have been completed.Shafiqul Alam, the press secretary to the chief advisor, gave this information on Wednesday (August 6) He said that Principal Secretary to the Chief Advisor, M Siraj Uddin Mia, in a letter sent to the Chief Election Commissioner today, requested him to take necessary steps to organize a free, fair, peaceful and festive national election of the expected quality at the specified time.On Tuesday (August 5), on the occasion of the July Uprising Day, Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus, in his address to the nation, said that he would write to the Election Commission to organize the elections before the start of Ramadan in February next year.In continuation of that, the Office of the Chief Advisor sent this letter today.Referring to the address given to the nation, the letter said that the Chief Advisor, in his speech, called for the immediate commencement of all preparations and institutional arrangements in this regard.In the context of citizens not being able to vote in the past 15 years, the Chief Advisor has emphasized on organizing the next election to be remembered as a day of great joy and voting festival.
