The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 2,062 cases against motorists for violating traffic rules during a 24-hour drive across the capital.According to a statement issued today by the DMP's Media and Public Relations Division, the traffic police conducted the campaign on July 6 as part of its routine efforts to enforce traffic laws and improve road discipline. During the drive, police dumped 524 motor vehicles and towed away 384 others for various traffic violations.

Of the total cases, 85 were filed under the Ramna Traffic Zone, 153 under Lalbagh, 184 under Motijheel, 533 under Wari, 203 under Tejgaon, 272 under Mirpur, 387 under Uttara and 245 under Gulshan.

The DMP said such enforcement drives will continue to ensure compliance with traffic regulations and maintain order on the city's roads.
