On Monday (March 2), four separate notifications issued by the Ministry of Public Administration announced new appointments at the Prime Minister’s Office.According to the notifications, SAM Mahfuzur Rahman, Editor of the news agency United News of Bangladesh (UNB), has been appointed as the Prime Minister’s Speech Writer (Grade-1) on a contractual basis. He will serve from the date of joining until the end of the Prime Minister’s tenure or until the Prime Minister’s satisfaction—whichever occurs earlier. As a condition of the appointment, he must relinquish any other professional, business, or employment ties with government, semi-government, or private institutions and organizations.
Additionally, journalists Mostafa Julfikar Hasan (Hasan Shiplu), Md. Sujauddoulla, and Md. Zahidul Islam have been appointed as Deputy Press Secretaries to the Prime Minister. They will receive salary at the highest step of the Grade-4 pay scale and will serve on a contractual basis from the date of joining until the end of the Prime Minister’s tenure or at the Prime Minister’s satisfaction, whichever comes first.
The notifications also state that other terms and conditions of these appointments will be determined through formal contracts.
