RAB Deploys 281 Patrol Teams Nationwide for Durga Puja Security

Special security measures have been taken across the country ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja after reviewing all potential risks. As part of the plan, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has deployed 281 patrol teams nationwide. In a press release issued on Friday (26 September), RAB confirmed the deployment, noting that there are a total of 31,526 puja mandaps across the country this year. To prevent any untoward incidents and ensure overall security, RAB has intensified intelligence surveillance and patrol activities nationwide. Enhanced security measures will remain in place until 3 October.

According to the statement, since 25 September RAB has been carrying out extensive operations to prevent violence, sabotage, or disruption of law and order during the festival. This includes 94 patrol teams in Dhaka and 281 patrol teams across the country.

The battalions are also operating from control rooms in their respective jurisdictions, coordinating with local puja committees, public representatives, and other law enforcement agencies. RAB Headquarters is closely monitoring the overall situation.

The public has been urged to inform RAB immediately if they receive any information about attempts to disrupt communal harmony or carry out subversive activities during Durga Puja. Citizens may also contact RAB’s control rooms or designated district officers directly for any law and order–related assistance.

The press release further expressed confidence that, as in previous years, Durga Puja 2025 will be celebrated nationwide with enthusiasm and festive spirit. RAB, along with other law enforcement agencies, will remain on high alert to ensure smooth and peaceful celebrations.
