BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu has warned that if the upcoming national election is not held in February, the country’s democracy will fall into uncertainty. He made the remarks on Tuesday (September 16) while addressing an election campaign event at Mominpur Union Bazar under Alamdanga upazila in Chuadanga district.Dudu said the interim government has announced that the national election will take place in February. “In that election, the general people, workers, and the working class must come together to ensure the victory of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP),” he added.Calling on party leaders and activists to remain united, the former lawmaker said: “Victory is not possible without unity. No matter how anyone conspires against BNP, if we remain united, no conspiracy will succeed. We are the soldiers of the proclaimer of independence, martyred President Ziaur Rahman, of our leader Begum Khaleda Zia, and of Tarique Rahman. Both the Awami League and international actors are conspiring against BNP, and it is our responsibility to resist such conspiracies.”
He further stated that if elections are not held in February, the future of Bangladesh will be at risk. “The country’s democratic freedom will be endangered. Therefore, holding the election in February is extremely important.”
