National Citizens Party (SCP) Chief Coordinator Nasir Uddin Patwary has said that a referendum will be held in Bangladesh, and the BNP will not be able to stop it — even if it waits 100 years. He made the remarks on Wednesday (November 12) at the launching ceremony of the Joint Platform of Health Professionals and Students held at the Dhaka Reporters Unity.Nasir Uddin Patwary said, “The referendum will take place. Even if the BNP waits a hundred years, they will not be able to prevent it. The eight-party alliance, including Jamaat-e-Islami, will return home once their demands are fulfilled.”

He urged the BNP to engage in politics in tune with the people’s pulse, adding that the party has been busy with extortion and filing cases instead of serving the people. “In the past year, BNP has failed to deliver any meaningful service to the citizens,” he added.

Emphasizing the need for reforms for the country’s young generation, Patwary said that genuine change is essential for national progress.

Criticizing the government, he remarked that the gap between the state and the people has widened. “The Yunus administration has become detached from the citizens and is operating unilaterally. Teachers, doctors, and nurses who protest are being beaten,” he alleged.

He urged the government to ensure the rights of the people and to establish a comprehensive and fair health system for all.
