BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed has alleged that the “fallen government” is conspiring to derail the upcoming national election. He made the remark on Wednesday (November 12) at a publication and discussion event organized by the Ziaur Rahman Archive at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka, marking the Revolution and Solidarity Day.Rizvi Ahmed said, “The fallen government is lying in wait to foil the election. The sounds of their conspiracy can be heard regularly.” He further stated, “A certain quarter is actively working to obstruct the process of restoring democracy in the country. Their main objective is to sabotage the forthcoming national election.”

The senior BNP leader cautioned, “This conspiracy network is not limited to fascist elements only; several other vested interests are also involved.”

Criticizing the role of the media in promoting the destructive activities of a banned organization, Rizvi questioned, “How can some media outlets so widely publicize such inhuman acts? Those responsible for this kind of promotion should also be brought under the law.”

Referring to the August 5 mass uprising, Rizvi said, “After the uprising, the criminals were supposed to flee, but instead, they continue manipulating the situation. This has created a negative environment in society.”

Commenting on the interim government, he added, “The government’s weaknesses or ‘flaws’ are evident, as it is targeting the BNP instead of identifying the real enemies. This only exposes its administrative incompetence.”
