Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP, has stated that the verdict to reinstate the caretaker government system will act positively to ensure that no one turns into a new fascist in the path of democracy. He made the remarks on Thursday (20 November) at the main medical assistance program of “Amra BNP Paribar,” held at the Krishibid Institution Auditorium in Dhaka under the patronage of BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. Rizvi said that Sheikh Hasina abolished the caretaker government system to cling to power. He added that the verdict to reinstate the caretaker government will block the path of creating fascism.
Regarding the decision not to celebrate Tarique Rahman’s birthday, Rizvi said that when so many people are sick and hungry, how can one celebrate a birthday? He added that if BNP comes to power, Tarique Rahman’s humanitarian and service-oriented activities will expand further.
The BNP spokesperson also said that Sheikh Hasina has displayed cruelty because she could not uphold humanity. He added that no one in Bangladesh has shown such cruelty as she has.
Rizvi emphasized that the reinstatement of the caretaker government system marks a significant step forward on the path of justice and democracy. He called the verdict “extremely positive,” noting that the Awami League had abolished the system to make its rule permanent.
He further said that the verdict has once again revived the lifeblood of democracy. “A fascist government has no humanity,” Rizvi noted, adding that Sheikh Hasina showed harshness and cruelty in exercising state power.
Among those present at the event were BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, BNP Treasurer Rashiduzzaman Millat, “Amra BNP Paribar” convener journalist Atikur Rahman Ruman, and Member Secretary Krishibid Moksedul Momin Mithun, among others.
