The officer-in-charge of Adabor police station and a sub-inspector were injured when a group of suspected muggers attacked them with machetes during a police raid in the capital’s Adabor area on Tuesday.The injured officers were identified as the police station officer-in-charge Md Zahidul Islam and sub-inspector Tarun.According to the OC, the incident stemmed from a robbery earlier in the day, when a group of armed assailants allegedly entered a shop in Adabor and carried out a mugging at machete-point. A team of police from Adabor police station, acting on a tip-off, conducted a raid behind Delta Garments in the afternoon.

The suspects suddenly attacked the law enforcers with machetes during the operation, leaving the OC and the SI injured.

Police later detained four suspects from the scene.
