BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Tuesday warned of possible subversive activities during Durga Puja and urged national unity to resist “evil forces.”Speaking to reporters after visiting the Puja mandap at Dhaka University’s Jagannath Hall, Rizvi said, “There are plots and conspiracies, but together, beyond religion and community, we will resist them. The people of this country have always broken the webs of conspiracies, and this time too, the evil forces will not succeed.”He noted that defeated forces had attempted subversive activities around Durga Puja in previous years and warned that both domestic and foreign conspiracies still exist, aiming to spread misinformation and disrupt communal harmony.
“Despite all conspiracies, this year’s Puja is being celebrated joyfully across the country. Puja is not only a religious festival but also a symbol of Bangladesh’s centuries-old communal harmony,” he added.
Rizvi called on the government to ensure the rights and safety of all communities and maintain state security to prevent any provocation or malicious attempts.
Later, addressing a delegation from the Association of Engineers Bangladesh at BNP’s Nayapaltan office, Rizvi said attempts are underway to disturb communal peace and undermine the electoral process. He emphasized that the country’s youth, whose voting rights have been denied for over a decade, will not tolerate efforts to disrupt national elections.
