Ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary ElectionBNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has called on the party’s nomination aspirants to remain united and work collectively for whichever candidate the party nominates.He made the call during a virtual meeting from London on Sunday (October 26), where he exchanged views with over 350 nomination seekers from five organizational divisions of the country. The meeting was held at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan, Dhaka, from afternoon till evening.

Addressing the aspirants, Tarique Rahman said:

“In the upcoming election, everyone must work for the candidate who receives the party nomination. Those who are true BNP activists will never divide the party.”

Emphasizing unity, he added:

“This election is extremely important. Candidates are being selected after careful consideration. Whoever gets the nomination must receive full support from all party members — otherwise, it will harm both the nation and the party.”

Tarique Rahman also directed potential candidates to return to their constituencies and coordinate with local colleagues once nominations are finalized.

“No electoral battle can be won without the cooperation of local associates,” he said.

According to party sources, Tarique Rahman first met with nomination seekers from the Chattogram and Rangpur divisions at 4 p.m. on Sunday, followed by those from the Mymensingh, Faridpur, and Cumilla divisions. Participants did not have the opportunity to deliver speeches during the meeting.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam AlamgirStanding Committee members Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, and Salahuddin Ahmed, along with organizational and assistant-organizational secretaries from the relevant divisions, were present at the meeting.

Meanwhile, on Monday (October 27), Tarique Rahman is scheduled to meet nomination aspirants from the Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, Sylhet, and Dhaka divisions.
