BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman has held an exchange meeting with families of those killed and injured in the July mass uprising.The event began at 11am on Sunday (January 18) at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh in the Farmgate–Khamarbari area of the capital, organised by the BNP.Party sources said the meeting is being presided over by BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, with other senior BNP leaders also in attendance.Tarique Rahman’s wife, Zubaida Rahman, is also present at the programme.A day earlier, on Saturday, the BNP chief met families of victims of enforced disappearance, killings and torture during the tenure of the previous Awami League government, at a separate event in the capital organised by “Mayer Daak” and “Amra BNP Poribar”.

Through these two back-to-back meetings, the BNP has launched an initiative to hear directly from families affected by political violence, and to bring their experiences and demands to the forefront.
